On 5 February, the first Inter-ministerial Committee on International Cooperation for Development (CICID) of Emmanuel Macron’s five-year term is to be held. The President’s repeated announcements in favour of increased development aid, made at the United Nations in Ouagadougou or Davos this week, had given French NGOs hope that France would finally increase its budget dedicated to international solidarity.
And yet, 10 days before this deadline, and despite the promises of the President of the Republic, it seems that no budgetary decision will be taken to achieve the objectives set by Emmanuel Macron himself.
