The 21th and 22th of  January, Fert organized a workshop about agricultural advice in Antsirabe, Madagascar.

Local response to Fert’s participation at the event in Bohicon dealing with agricultural advice in Africa, this workshop was to bring together the main stakeholders of agricultural advice in Madagascar – both direct operators, elected farmers, but also institutional.

Fueled by presentations of experiences (Afdi, Agrisud, OPR, Cooperatives, Fert …) and small group discussions, 60 participants were able to agree on a common definition of agricultural advice and discuss the conditions for implementation and sustainability of the advice in Madagascar.

  

Since 2002, several initiatives are attempting to develop the agricultural advice in the field but the subject is large to make the agricultural advice a widespread and sustainable approach in Madagascar.
