Support for the structuring of financial services in rural areas in the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions

Description

Fert works in Tanzania to develop rural financial services in the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions. It supports the creation and development of savings and loan co-operatives (Saccos) that offer financial services adapted to economic activities in rural areas. To make support for the Saccos permanent, in 2006 Fert facilitated the creation of the Usawa regional financial institution (Union of rural Saccos). This network allows its members to pool technical and financial resources and services.
